California recently passed the point where Caucasians were a majority. We are now only a plurality. On walks in the park, you are likely to hear people pass, chattering with each other in langauges other than English. Spanish, of course. In the Summer of ’09, we all went on a Segway Tour of San Francisco … which I can heartily recommend. We spent 30 or 40 minutes being thoroughly trained (it’s easy!) … and then we went out in the Fisherman’s wharf area … where cars are moving very slowly owing to the foot traffic….
