What World Will We Leave To Them?

It’s trite, but often untrue, to say we do altruistic things to make the world a better place for our grandchildren. That said, it’s still a good frame of reference for decisions.

I’ve tried to be kind to the planet and to other folks … to contribute to a society which provides both opportunity and a fair chance. Is it enough? No. Can I do more? Probably. Should I?

It wasn’t until I looked at the full sized version of Macy in her WonderGirl outfit (see “Vancouver Visit“) and was struck by the openness and innocence of her look. I cropped the picture and have made it my desktop “wallpaper” for now, because it does give me pause … thinking about what sort of world we are creating for her and Madison.

Here’s what I’m looking at:

See what I mean? Click on the picture, and it will show full size … then look into those eyes and wonder: Will she have a world that’s better than we did? The same? Worse? And what should we be doing for those ends?
